What is the material of the transparent part of the box
Two kinds of raw materials are most commonly used, namely PVC and PET. Let’s briefly introduce the characteristics of these two raw materials.
PVC material is one of the most widely used plastic source materials for transparent packaging boxes. PVC material is a non-crystalline material. In actual use, PVC materials often add stabilizers, lubricants, auxiliary processing agents, pigments, impact resistance agents and other additives. PVC material has non-flammability, high strength, weather resistance and excellent geometric stability. PVC has strong resistance to oxidants, reducing agents and strong acids. However, it can be corroded by concentrated oxidizing acids such as concentrated sulfuric acid and concentrated nitric acid and is not suitable for contact with aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
PET is polyethylene terephthalate. It is a common resin in life. PET can be divided into APET, RPET, and PETG. PET has a highly symmetrical molecular structure and a certain crystal orientation ability, so it has high film-forming properties and properties. PET has good optical properties and weather resistance, and amorphous PET has good optical transparency. In addition, PET has excellent wear resistance, friction, dimensional stability and electrical insulation. Bottles made of PET have high strength, good transparency, non-toxicity, anti-permeability, light quality, and high production efficiency, so they have been widely used. The molecular chain structure of PBT and PET is similar, and most of the properties are the same, except that the main chain of the molecule has changed from two methylene groups to four, so the molecule is more flexible and the processing performance is better.
